SQUASH… it’s not just for frying anymore!
Who says eating healthy has to be boring? Not Warren Foodworks!
When you think of eating healthy, most thoughts may turn to something resembling sticks,
weeds, or the affectionately termed “rabbit-food.” When’s the last time you had roasted squash
hummus or zucchini soup? We ask that you keep an open mind and come see what our
wonderful chefs and bakers can do with local produce and natural products native to Warren
Who thinks of nutrition AND good food while juggling crazy work hours, child-care, errands,
school. We all know that in today’s fast-paced world, taking time to truly sit and enjoy a home-
cooked meal, especially at lunch time, is really unheard of in today’s fast paced world. As a whole, we are “on the go”
way too much and our bodies do need “good stuff”. After all, you wouldn’t put that O’ so lovely white
sugar in your car’s gas tank and expect it to keep moving would you? Why continue to treat
yourself that way? GIVE YOUR ARTERIES A BREAK!!! OK, so we do have really great
cinnamon rolls and brownies, but that’s for later-AFTER you’ve been good!
Whether or not you have time to come “set a spell,” or order lunch (or breakfast or dinner) to
go, Foodworks has some really creative and great tasting dishes for you. Grab a
sandwich, slice of quiche, soup, a delicious side-dish, dessert… (you get the hint.)
And don’t forget about our specialty coffee drinks. LATTE-LICIOUS! If you don’t have time to stay a while,
just call in your order Wed-Sat to 257-1239. Be sure to check café hours. You can also sign up
to receive our weekly e-mails, which will keep you informed of each week’s menu as well as
At Foodworks, not only will you get great food, friendly service, and a relaxed atmosphere, but
you will also help support our local farmers. We hope you will join us on our journey of healthier-
but great tasting- eating as well as building our community!!
~ M. Holcomb (happy employee!)[SQUASH: an important source of many nutrients, including vitamin A, C, magnesium, and other
antioxidant compounds. These help the body to boost its immune response and defend against foreign
substances, as well as the free radicals produced by our own body, that may do us harm over the long
term. Different varieties of squash have the ability to improve the quality of your sight, boost skin health,
strengthen the immune system, prevent cancer, manage symptoms of diabetes, build strong bones,
protect heart health, reduce symptoms of insomnia, prevent inflammatory conditions, treat arthritis,
eliminate ulcers, eliminate parasites and infections, increase prostate health, protects against birth
defects, boosts respiratory health, and reduces blood pressure.]
