Working Landscapes helps farmers to implement regenerative agricultural practices, access valuable resources, and expand market opportunities. Through our food hub, shared-use facilities, and technical assistance, we work side-by-side with farmers to achieve their goals.
Market Access Support
Through value chain facilitation, Working Landscapes can help bridge the gap to markets that farmers otherwise have difficulty accessing. This includes markets right in your backyard as well as those across the state.
GAP Food Safety Certification
GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) certification is required for farmers seeking access to certain wholesale and institutional markets, such as schools. Working Landscapes staff work with farmers interested in getting GAP certified, assisting them with developing a food safety plan and navigating the audit process.
Biochar Loan Program
Biochar is a highly porous, high-carbon material that can aid farmers in building their soil by retaining nutrients and water. It has also gained popularity as a way to sequester carbon, assisting in the fight against climate change.
If you have woody debris, dried corn stalks, or other burnable feedstock, check out our Biochar Loan Program here to learn more about biochar and how to borrow a kiln for FREE!
Climate Adaptation Planning for Farms
The climate crisis is here, and farmers are already being affected. Whether you are seeing an increase in flooding, drought, wind, pests, or disease, our team can help you navigate these challenges. We can work with you to utilize conservation practices such as cover cropping, mulching, rotational grazing, windbreaks or biochar application to help address these challenges, as well as increase carbon sequestration.
Soil Health & Wealth Consultation
Through our soil health and wealth consultations, we help your farm business learn how to take and interpret soil tests to maximize soil improvement impacts. Our team is ready to provide farm-specific cover crop recommendations, based on your soil conditions and your production plan
