Kimberly Harris, Ph.D. Board Chair
Kimberly Harris, Ph.D., Educa Consulting owner, independent evaluator, and CREE expert based in Durham, North Carolina. Specializes in social justice research on housing, food, workforce, and other economic landscape issues. Interdisciplinary research interests include management, workforce development, wealth creation, food justice, and housing security.
Beth Wethington, Secretary
Beth Wethington is the Co-Leader of The Remembrance Coalition and a lifelong learner, finding wonder and wisdom in wild things. She feels passionate about sustainable practices and respecting the integrity of nature‘s inclination toward harmony. She likes feeding people and birds, theological discussions, and gardening. Beth is a resident of Warren County where she lives with her husband, a dog, and a cat.
Sailor Jones
Sailor Jones is Associate Director of Common Cause. Sailor has more than a decade of experience as a communications leader working on pro-democracy and social justice issues in North Carolina. He has supervised messaging and communications work, digital efforts, resource creation and training and worked closely with internal teams and external partners to coordinate successful organizing and advocacy campaigns and programs. A native of Warren County, Sailor is a proud graduate of both UNC-Chapel Hill and North Carolina Central University School of Law.
Jerry Edmonds III, Ed. D
Jerry Edmonds is Vice President of Workforce Development and Community Engagement at Vance Granville Community College. He is a high-achieving leader with a proven track record in corporate and higher education. Edmonds has a proven ability to recruit, train, manage, and develop high-performing teams. His consultative leadership style results in motivated and effective teams that deliver exceptional results.
Bev Wilson, PhD
Bev Wilson is an Associate Professor of Urban and Environmental Planning at the University of Virginia. Bev’s research focuses on understanding urbanization processes, their effects on suburbs and rural communities, and how these processes affect both natural systems and human communities. His research respond to the need to plan for sustainable communities under conditions of unprecedented climate instability and persistent inequality. Hailing from Warren County, NC, Professor Wilson has a personal interest in the livability of small towns and rural communities, and he believes that planners can play a significant role in successfully meeting the many issues these areas face.
