ByWay Foods Hub occupies space in two downtown Warrenton, NC locations. The primary location is on Franklin Street, on a repurposed historic site that once housed a cotton gin and flour mill. Our fresh-cut vegetable operation is based here, in an expanded facility completed in November 2021. At this same location, we also manage a fresh produce CSA-style program that provides fresh, healthy food to community residents, in collaboration with CFSA’s FarmsShare program and other partners. We also offer refrigerated and frozen cold storage, a loading dock, and a forklift.
Just two blocks away, we manage the Main Street Kitchen, a commercial kitchen where we produce frozen meals for area seniors, and offer hourly shared-use rental to other food entrepreneurs.
We are also developing an on-site composting program, which converted 5,000 lbs of vegetable waste into compost in 2022.
We are proud to be working in partnership with Loaves and Fishes food pantry to provide frozen storage food assistance programs.
Working Landscapes helps local farmers attain food safety certifications necessary for serving wholesale markets, such as GAP. We also work across the region with many partners to develop value chains that connect local farm products to regional markets. Our team can also assists farmers with grant writing for on-farm improvements, provide introductions to regional food distributors, and help envision how your land and agricultural practices can help address the climate crisis and promote soil health.
